
Activities on the Isle of Wight
Walking
With over 500 of miles of signposted footpaths and vast amounts of
unrivalled natural beauty, it is no surprise that the Isle of Wight
is a top UK walking destination. The astounding diversity in such a
small relative area coupled with the mild climate makes the island a
great year round walking spot
Carmel is set on the Coastal footpath which circumnavigates the

Cycling
Whether on or off road, the island is a great location for cyclists
of all ages and abilities. The cycle track running from Sandown to
Cowes has proved highly popular since its opening in 2004. There is
also an extensive network
of quiet lanes and way marked bridleways giving cyclists access to
all 4 corners of the island. Check out

Watersports
Miles of diverse coastline provides heaps of opportunity for a real
mixed bag of watersports. WightWater is the island's top watersports
centre. Offering a range of activities from surfing and
bodyboarding to catamaran and dingy sailing to canoeing and
windsurfing. Wightwater is on the beach at Lake and caters for all

Sailing
Very few people don't already associate the Isle of Wight with
sailing. After crossing the Solent you will be left with no
illusion the significance of sailing to the Island and in particular
the way of life on the northern coastline. The Isle of Wight is
indeed one of the best known sailing venues in the world, hosting
various annual events including the Round the Island Yacht Race,
Skandia Cowes Week and The Little Britain Challenge Cup.
